1990-2012 University chair at the University of Duisburg-Essen. 1984-1990 temporary professorship/permanent half-time position at the University of Hamburg. 1983 habilitation in comparative educational science. 1984-1987 training as gestalt therapist, research and expert advisory trips (including to Turkey, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Morocco, El Salvador). 1976-1984 research associate in the educational science department, University of Hamburg. 1980-81: expert assistant at the ILO's international training centre in Turin. 1976 PhD. 2 years' study of economics and politics. 1973/1976 first and second state examination for the grammar school-level teaching qualification. 1967-1973 student of English and Spanish literature and educational science in Göttingen, Barcelona and Hamburg. 1967 university entrance level examinations. Born 1949.

Focus of Work

Socialisation research and theories, intercultural education work, international educational research, women's studies in all the Educational Science Faculty's degree courses: educational science for all teaching degrees, teaching diploma degree, teaching subject pedagogics, masters course subsidiary subject educational science, additional degree intercultural teaching.
