Focus of Work

Emphases in the area of the bible are on biblical prophecy (female prophet figures in literature, female voices in the books of prophets, interconnections in the history of religions), the current debate on monotheism (god and goddess, origin and consequences of biblical monotheism) and Gender concepts in early Judaism / early Jewish literature. In the area of feminist theory-building, the accent is placed on issues of differences and differentiation within the category of gender and on networking this category with other categories of analysis (racism, discrimination due to religion, but also interreligious dialogue with Judaism and Islam). Jewish regional history, esp. Münster, in the 19th and 20th century, including gender aspects.
