Viktoria Niebel

Vita

Viktoria Niebel is a social scientist and research associate at the Science Support Center of the University Duisburg Essen, where she is responsible for gender consulting, career counselling for female early career researchers and the promotion of equal opportunities at the Graduate Center Plus. She was a local project manager in the EU-funded project RESET: Redesigning Equality and Scientific Excellence Together at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB; 2021-2024). From 2017-2021, she was a research associate at the Faculty of Social Sciences and deputy of the Central Equal Opportunities Officer for academic staff at RUB. As a doctoral candidate she researches discourses and practices of mindfulness in Western societies at the Chair of Social Theory and Social Psychology at RUB. Furthermore her academic interests are inter- and transculturality and intercultural communication and competence, diversity and gender equity.
