2001 Guest professor at the Shih Chien University, Taipei, and at the University of Western Sydney, 2000 Workshop for professional designers at Wuxi University of Light Industry (PRC) and guest professor at the Shanhai Insititute of Design. Since 2000 Co-Organizer of St. Moritz Design Summit, 1997 Guest Professor at the Musashino University, Tokyo, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, since 1995 Full Professor of Gender and Design at the Köln International School of Design of the University of Applied Sciences Cologne. 1992-1994 Director of the "Forum" of the Art and Exhibitiona Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bonn. 1991 Consultant for establishing the National Swiss Design Centre, Langenthal, Switzerland. 1988-1990 free lance author (particularly books on design), Frankfurt and Cologne.1987-1988 Deputy Minister of State for women´s affairs, Hessen, Wiesbaden. 1986 German Marshall Fund Research Grant, USA (Washington D.C., Chicago, New York, St. Paul/ Minneapolis). 1983-1987 Deputy Director of the research institute on gender and society, Hannover. 1983 Ph.D. (Dr. phil.). 1980-1983 free lance author (art and culture). 1973-1980 researcher at the Department of Psychology,University of Hannover. 1973 M.A. in Sociology and Psychology. 1967-1973 studied English Language and Literature, Political Sciences, Sociology and Psychology at the Universities of Bremen and Hannover.
