Since October 2009 Academic Councillor at the Faculty of Spatial Planning, TU Dortmund, in the field of Urban and Gender Studies.

Studied spatial planning at the University of Dortmund and the Universitè Pierre Mendès France, Grenoble, 1992-1998; research assistant at the Berlin Institute for Social Research (1999-2000) and at the Institute for Sociology at the Technical University of Berlin (2000-2005). Doctorate at the Faculty of Planning and Building Environment, TU Berlin (2005). Postdoc at the Center for Metropolitan Studies in the Transatlantic Research Training Group "Berlin - New York. History and Culture of the Metropolis in the 20th Century" (2005-2006 and 2007). Research assistant in the academy group "Ageing in Germany" at the German Academy of Natural Scientists in Halle/Saale (2006-2007) and in the interdisciplinary working group "Global Change - Regional Development" of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (2008-2009).
