Vita

Kerstin Ettl is Juniorprofessor for Entrepreneurial Diversity & SME Management at the University of Siegen. She takes an individual and contextual perspective on Entrepreneurship and SME Management, particularly with interest in gender & diversity aspects.

After an apprenticeship as a media designer and -consultant she studied Business Administration, focused on Management of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Marketing. She wrote her PhD thesis on Women Entrepreneurs and Success and has worked at the same time on research exploring learning and opportunity recognition of Women Entrepreneurs. Afterwards she operated as a consultant for SMEs and academic teacher at various private universities. From 2013-2017 she was a post-doc researcher at the University of Siegen and involved in research projects at the Institut für Mittelstandsforschung Bonn (IfM Bonn).

In 2017 she became a Juniorprofessor at the University of Siegen. Currently she is mainly engaged in researching the Public Image of Women Entrepreneurs, influences of Role models on Entrepreneurship and Conceptualizing Diversity in Entrepreneurship and SME Research.
