Professor at the Ruhr University Bochum Institute for Media Studies since SS 04; WS 2003/04: deputy professor at the Ruhr University Bochum Institute for Media Studies; 2003: habilitation on the subject of "Practices of Illusion. Immanuel Kant to Donna Haraway" at the Humboldt University Berlin Philosophical Faculty III. 1999 dissertation on the subject of "Cognitive Criticism and Transitory Experience in the Work of Walter Benjamin and Hermann Cohen". Awarded the Humboldt Prize 1999. From 1995 to 2003 research assistant, from 2000 research associate in the Humboldt University Berlin Cultural Studies Seminar. During this period: work on the conception, establishment and institutionalisation of the Gender Studies degree course. 1994-95: scholarship holder of the Swiss National Fund in Berlin. 1990-1994 culture editor of the Zurich Wochen Zeitung. 1990 co-founder with Ursula Konnert of the journal "Die Philosophin. Forum für feministische Theorie und Philosophie". Student of philosophy and German literature in Zurich and Berlin.
