Focus of Work

Anke’s research interest lies in policy and efficacy assessments in the field of gender and research, and analysis of gendered organizations.
She evaluated gender equality plans of universities and research organisations in Europe, and coordinated two European projects during FP6, the project to create the European Platform of Women Scientists, and Encouragement to Advance – Training Seminars for Women Scientists. Anke collaborated as evaluator in the FP7- project INTEGER (Institutional Transformation for Effecting Gender Equality in Research). Therein she led the evaluation team; and GenPORT, creating a European online community of gender equality practitioners in the research sector (2014-2017). Anke carried out two surveys and coordinated three mappings of gender equality policies in public research (2012 & 2013), a policy environment analysis (2014), and chaired an EC expert group with the mandate to carry out an ex-ante impact assessment study to assess effects of structural change policies in the European Research Area (2013).
She is member of the Horizon 2020 advisory group for SWAFS and member of the Horizon 2020 advisory group on Gender. Her research focuses on impact assessments, evaluation and analysis of policy styles and their implementation in the field of gender and research in EU.
