Sarah Heinemann was born in Halle (Saale) in 1988. She studied speech science at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg. From September 2012 to July 2013 she studied through the ERASMUS program at the Università degli studi di Genova in Italy. In October 2019 she defended her dissertation thesis Die Macht der Gedanken. Eine kritische Analyse der Lehren des Positiven Denkens with the overall grade magna cum laude at the Philosophical Faculty II of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Sarah Heinemann was supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation with study and doctoral grants.
So far she has worked as a freelance trainer and lecturer in adult education and as a lecturer at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg, the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, at the interDaF e.V. at the Herder Institute at the University of Leipzig and at the preparatory college in Saxony . Her focus was in the areas of rhetoric and argumentation as well as in the areas of speech training and phonetics in the field of German as a foreign language. She also ran courses in stress management and relaxation, is a trained systemic coach and worked as a research assistant with Dr. Petra Sitte (Member of the Bundestag) employed.
In addition to her academic work, Sarah Heinemann volunteered in the political, artistic and queer-feminist fields. Among other things, she was there in 2011/2012 as a student assistant and assistant director for the student project In roten Schuhen tanzt die Sonne sich zu Tod - expressionistische Lyrik. Eine szenische Lesung der Sprechbuehne - expressionist poetry. A scenic reading of the speech stage at the seminar for speech science at the University of Halle. In May 2017, she organized the Konferenz junger politischer Frauen in Halle (Saale) as a co-initiator together with a volunteer team.
Sarah Heinemann is a member of the Mitteldeutschen Verband für Sprechwissenschaft (MDVS), the Berufsvereinigung Mündliche Kommunikation e.V. NRW (bmk nrw) and the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Sprechwissenschaft und Sprecherziehung (DGSS).
In the latter, she currently holds the office of deputy chairperson. She is currently one of six Equal Opportunities Officers in the Philosophical Faculty and thus represents the central Equal Opportunities Officer at RWTH at faculty level.
In her habilitation thesis project, Sarah Heinemann deals with female rhetoric and communication as well as their mediation and reflection in leadership skills training within women's support programs for young female scientists.
