The Coordination Office of the Women's & Gender Research Network creates the "Gender-Report NRW" in a three-year cycle. This report contains results of the current study about gender (in)equality at universities in NRW.
The first Gender-Report was published in 2010. The following Gender-Reports were published at the end of 2013, 2016 and 2019 and can be downloaded or ordered as a print version using our order form. You can get more information on the project's website.
The Gender Report 2022 comprises three partial studies: Part I measures and compares gender (in)equity at universities in NRW, based on university statistics. How are women and men distributed across qualification levels and status groups (vertical segregation)? What gender inequalities become visible when subject groups are considered (horizontal segregation)? Special attention is paid to the 37 universities sponsored by the State of NRW.
Part II analyses gender equality policy intervention and control measures at the universities. The evaluation refers, among other things, to the gender-equitable composition of committees, the gender equality quota, childcare provision and sexualised harassment, violence and abuse of power.
Part III of the Gender Report analyses the career options and professional perspectives of non-professorial scientific staff from a gender perspective. Especially against the background of structural change of higher education institutions it is fruitful to investigate the position of non-professorial academic researchers and teachers.
